New Delhi (VNA) – VinFast Auto India, a subsidiary of Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast, on July 15 officially launched pre-orders for its two premium electric SUV models, VF7 and VF6, across the Indian market.

The two EVs are scheduled for public debut in August, following the inauguration of VinFast’s manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu state. Vehicle deliveries will begin shortly after.

Indian customers can now reserve their preferred electric SUV model at any VinFast showroom or via the company’s official website, VinFastAuto.in, with a fully refundable deposit of 21,000 INR (approximately 250 USD).

Engineered to global standards while tailored to Indian road conditions and consumer needs, the VF7 and VF6 offer impressive real-world driving ranges on a single charge. Both models are designed to meet a variety of mobility demands, from daily urban commutes to intercity travel and weekend getaways.

The vehicles will be assembled at VinFast’s soon-to-be-inaugurated facility, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to India, a key market and a future hub for EV manufacturing.

In a statement announcing the pre-order launch, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, expressed optimism about the strong reception from Indian consumers at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The enthusiastic support for the VF7 and VF6 reaffirms India’s readiness and commitment to sustainable mobility.

To ensure a seamless ownership experience, VinFast has partnered with 13 dealership groups to establish 32 outlets across 27 cities, forming a 3S (Sales, Service, Spare parts) ecosystem.

Additionally, the company has announced strategic collaborations with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to build a reliable nationwide charging and after-sales service network. These partnerships will enable real-time charging access, AI-based diagnostics, and integrated digital platforms to support VinFast’s rapidly growing EV user base and infrastructure.

In line with its commitment to sustainable development, VinFast has also partnered with India’s clean-tech leader, BatX Energies, to develop battery recycling, rare metal recovery, and second-life battery applications. This collaboration marks a significant step towards building an integrated circular battery value chain in India, underpinning VinFast’s mission to create a greener future through responsible innovation./.

Reducing risks, removing logistics bottlenecks amid Middle East volatility

According to Truong Xuan Trung, Trade Counsellor of Vietnam in the UAE, the Middle East serves not only as a consumption market but also as a key global transhipment hub, meaning instability in the region creates ripple effects across intercontinental transport networks. Shipping route adjustments and airspace restrictions have lengthened transit times, increased costs and disrupted delivery schedules, with some Vietnamese shipments forced to reroute or seek alternative markets.
