- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong arrived in Busan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on October 29 afternoon to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week and engage in bilateral activities at the invitation of Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
Welcoming the Vietnamese President and the delegation at the Gimhae Air Base were Choi Hyung Chan, President of the National Diplomatic Academy of the RoK, leaders of Busan city, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Vu Ho, Vietnamese Consul General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan, and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General in the RoK. - The working trip by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Malaysia on October 26-28 achieved significant and multifaceted results, demonstrating a dynamic, enthusiastic, and responsible Vietnam.
The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, the largest ASEAN event series of the year, brought together nearly 30 heads of state and government from ASEAN and its partner countries and organisations, including China, the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Nations, the European Union, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). - The National Assembly (NA) on October 29 devoted the entire day to assessing the implementation of the 2025 socio-economic development plan, outlining the plan for 2026, and reviewing the implementation of the National Assembly’s resolutions on the 2021–2025 five-year plans for socio-economic development and economic restructuring.
For the 2026 socio-economic development plan, the Government has set 15 key targets. Among them, gross domestic product (GDP) growth is expected to reach at least 10%, per capita GDP at between 5,400 and 5,500 USD, the average consumer price index (CPI) expand about 4.5%; average labour productivity increase by around 8%; and the multidimensional household poverty rate fall by 1–1.5%. - Many National Assembly (NA) deputies on October 29 proposed implementing an appropriate wage policy to ensure civil servants and public employees can work with peace of mind, along with a mechanism for evaluating and filtering out those who do not meet the requirements of their tasks.

- The capital city welcomed over 28.22 million visitors in the first 10 months of 2025, achieving 91% of its annual target and surpassing the figure recorded in 2024.
Statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism show that the total tourism revenue approximated110 trillion VND (4.17 million USD) in 10 months, up 20% year-on-year. As many as 6.17 million foreigners travelled to Hanoi during the period, up 22% compared to the same period last year. Read full story

- The ongoing inaugural Autumn Fair 2025 in Hanoi is not only a cultural and tourism event, but also a major national trade promotion activity, offering a “golden” opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to seek new partners, promote their brands and expand into potential markets.
Dang Thi Huong, a representative of Minh Tam ceramic workshop from Phu Lang pottery village in the northern province of Bac Ninh, said the purpose of their participation was to introduce the village’s craftsmanship dating back more than 800 years to both domestic and international visitors. - As of 22:00 on October 28, total donations collected at the Autumn Fair 2025, which opened in Hanoi on October 25, to support flood-affected people had exceeded 211.43 million VND (8,303 USD), according to its organising board.
The donation campaign, launched on October 20 by the fair organiser in collaboration with the Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, placed charity boxes at all entrances of the venue to facilitate contributions from visitors, businesses, and local residents, either by bank transfers, in cash or in-kind./.
