Vientiane (VNA) - An ancient tower has been discovered by local residents in Champasak province, southern Laos, while they were foraging in the forest.
The structure is situated near the tri-border area among Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
The tower is located in Nongpham, Munlapamok district, Champasak province. Surrounded by a dark red brick wall, it features an architectural style reminiscent of Southeast Asian relics dating back several centuries. Authorities in Laos have yet to release an official statement regarding the finding.
Champasak, in southwestern Laos along the borders with Thailand and Cambodia, is home to around 20 temples. Among them, Wat Phou, Wat Luang, and Wat Tham Fai are the most famous, drawing numerous visitors each year./.
