Phnom Penh (VNA) - The Cambodian Ministry of National Defence announced on August 27 that Cambodia and Thailand agreed to maintain regular communication between military regions, army areas, and units along the border, and strive to resolve all issues peacefully while avoiding clashes.
The ministry said that at the extraordinary meeting of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) on August 27 morning, the two sides emphasised the importance of further strengthening relations at all levels to build trust and promote good neighbourliness.
They further underscored the positive momentum and progress achieved through these engagements in advancing cooperation across all sectors, with the shared aim of returning to normalcy.
The meeting began at 11:00am and concluded at 11:53am. The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Commander of the 4th Military Region, while the Thai delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area./.
