Son La (VNA) - Party members, officials and residents in the northern mountainous province of Son La have hailed the quality of draft documents for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress, affirming that they reflect innovative thinking, strategic vision, and the aspiration for a prosperous, powerful nation.

Nguyen Tien Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Song Ma commune, said the draft documents comprehensively reflect the country’s achievements across all fields, demonstrating the Party’s leadership capacity and intellect.

He suggested a deeper assessment of the economic restructuring process and the shift towards a growth model based on science, technology, innovation, and productivity. He also proposed clearer analysis of the impacts of global integration and strategic competition, to better protect national interests and strengthen internal capacity.

Hai emphasised that maintaining political and social stability and reinforcing public trust in the Party remain decisive factors behind Vietnam’s achievements over the past 40 years of “Doi Moi” (Renewal).

Hai stressed the need to further improve living standards in ethnic minority and border areas, invest in essential infrastructure, reduce poverty, increase incomes, and expand vocational training for ethnic minority workers. He called for continued preservation of cultural values, better health care and education, improved technical and social infrastructure in mountainous regions, stable resettlement policies, and greater application of digital transformation in public administration and rural education.

Hai also suggested more flexible, practical leadership methods of the Party that stay close to the grassroots, and underscored the need to strengthen the contingent of capable grassroots officials in remote and border areas who understand local realities and can address emerging challenges.

Meanwhile, Luong Van Vinh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Huoi Mot commune, highlighted that after 40 years of renewal and the implementation of the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution, Vietnam has maintained macroe-conomic stability, controlled inflation, and achieved robust growth, with ensured social welfare, security and defence, and sustainable social development.

Nguyen Van Dong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chieng Khoong commune, also voiced full support for the draft documents, noting the country’s progress despite global challenges. He observed tangible improvements at the grassroots level—infrastructure upgrades, better public services, the spread of green and circular agriculture, and tourism recovery.

Dong proposed that at least 70% of commune-level administrative procedures be handled entirely online, that public “investment project maps” be made accessible for community supervision, and that commune-level contingency budgets be established to respond to extreme weather.
He also recommended that all communes develop climate adaptation plans and that each commune have at least one open community cultural space, with standardised cultural officers and digital heritage initiatives integrated into the 2025–2035 National Target Programme on culture./.
