Israeli firms step up sourcing from Vietnam

The conflicts have caused serious disruptions to Israel’s external supply chains, leading to greater demand for a wide range of imported goods. As a result, Israeli enterprises are intensifying efforts to diversify sources of supply, including from Vietnam, to meet domestic consumption needs.

Tel Aviv (VNA) – Despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, trade between Vietnam and Israel continued to grow strongly in the first half of 2025, with Israeli firms actively seeking alternative suppliers, including from Vietnam.

Le Thai Hoa, Trade Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, said on July 7 that bilateral trade reached 1.565 billion USD in the first five months of this year, marking a 44.64% surge compared to the same period in 2024. Vietnam’s exports to Israel were valued at 354 million USD, maintaining the same level as the previous year.

Preliminary data shows that bilateral trade hit 1.825 billion USD in the first six months of 2025, up 31.2% year-on-year. Exports from Vietnam rose to 425 million USD during the period.

If current momentum continues and no significant market disruptions occur, trade between the two countries is projected to approximate 3.7 billion USD for the full year – an increase of 13.95% over 2024. Vietnam’s exports are expected to approach 900 million USD, up 13.21%.

Hoa described these trade figures, given Israel's population of nearly 10 million and latent risks of instability, as relatively impressive.

Vietrade warns of scams related to National Fair – Spring 2026

Hai Phong records positive progress in combating IUU fishing

According to the Hai Phong municipal Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city currently has 788 fishing vessels. All vessels have been fully registered and licensed, with their data verified on VNeID and updated on the national fisheries management system VNFishbase. They have also been equipped with vessel monitoring system (VMS) devices, ensuring that no fishing vessels operating in the city fall short of regulatory requirements.

Tra fish exports forecast to near 2.2 billion USD

Tra fish output in 2025 is estimated at around 1.67 million tonnes. To date, the sector has contributed approximately 2.1 billion USD to Vietnam’s total agro-forestry-fisheries export earnings.

Credit growth nears 18% in 2025: central bank
