Lao police seize 400 heroin bricks

Police in the Lao northern province of Bokeo has just successfully busted a drug trafficking case involving 400 heroin bricks weighing 160 kg in total.
Vientiane (VNA) - Police inthe Lao northern province of Bokeo has just successfully busted a drugtrafficking case involving 400 heroin bricks weighing 160 kg in total.

According to local police, while checking vehiclesentering and leaving Namkong port, competent forces found a suspicious car,which later turned out to carry the heroin bricks. Three suspects, all residingin the province's Tonphuong district, have been detained.

Further investigation is underway.

Drug trafficking, a major challenge for Lao authorities, is among causes ofmany social vices in the country./.
