- Party General Secretary To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended a seminar with leading strategists on artificial intelligence (AI) and technology in the UK and the world, which was held in London on October 28, within the framework of their official visit to the UK.

The seminar, co-organised by the Boston Global Forum (BGF), is a strategic step to promote cooperation between Vietnam and technology powers in the AI era, while affirming the country's position in global digital transformation. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on October 28 evening, concluding their successful working trip to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits in Malaysia at the invitation of PM Anwar Ibrahim.

During his three days in Kuala Lumpur, PM Chinh had a busy schedule with nearly 50 multilateral and bilateral activities, including attending ASEAN meetings and events, ASEAN summits with partners, and holding bilateral meetings with almost all ASEAN leaders as well as leaders of partner countries and international organisations participating in the summits. - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) attended the closing ceremony of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, and the handover of the ASEAN Chairmanship from Malaysia to the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur on October 28 afternoon.

Delivering his closing remarks at the end of the three-day event featuring over 20 activities, Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim expressed his gratitude to all ASEAN member states and partners for their contributions and efforts, which ensured the success of the summits. - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on October 28 received Achim Post, Vice President of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), and Bernd Lange, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade, along with members of the SPD delegation, on the occasion of their working visit to Vietnam where they will also attend the 10th Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the SPD.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) cited data of the Department of Customs as reporting that, in 2024, total trade turnover between Vietnam and the UK reached over 8.4 billion USD, an 18% increase from 2023. On parliamentary cooperation, the top Vietnamese legislator called for increased the exchange of high-level delegations and closer collaboration between the two legislatures, including sharing legislative experience and strengthening ties between their respective committees.

Deputy PM hails cooperation in personnel training with Japan

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra highly valued the training programme jointly implemented since 2022 by Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Japan’s erex Co., Ltd, which focuses on enhancing public administration capacity, particularly for grassroots officials, young civil servants and female cadres.
