Ninh Binh (VNA) – Ninh Binh province places great importance on fostering cooperation with Hungary and hopes to receive support in establishing and signing cooperative ties with a Hungarian locality that shares similar characteristics, said Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

At a reception on June 6 for a delegation from the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), led by its President Komjáti Imre and his spouse, who are on a visit to Vietnam, Huan noted that the establishment of cooperative ties with a Hungarian locality will also contribute to nurturing and strengthening relations between the MSZP and the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as between the Vietnamese and Hungarian States and people.

He briefed the guests on the province’s key achievements in Party and political system building, and socio-economic development, highlighting Ninh Binh’s strengths in industry, agriculture, tourism, and services.

Ninh Binh is currently one of Vietnam’s three largest automobile manufacturing hubs, home to Hyundai Thanh Cong's factory. It is also among the top three fruit and vegetable processing and export centres in the country. Additionally, the province is a significant spiritual centre for both Catholicism and Buddhism, and boasts the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO-recognised World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.

Huan noted that 2025 is a special year as it marks the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary. He affirmed that the Vietnamese people in general, and the people of Ninh Binh in particular, deeply evaluate and appreciate Hungary’s support during the country’s past struggle for independence and its national reconstruction efforts.

For his part, Imre expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the leaders of Ninh Binh. He noted that the delegation was deeply impressed by Vietnam’s robust development, particularly its people-centred policy approach.

Imre welcomed Ninh Binh’s proposal to seek a Hungarian locality for partnership, describing it as a practical and specific activity, and pledged his support for the initiative.

At the reception, the Hungarian delegation and Ninh Binh leaders discussed potential areas of future cooperation. The Hungarian side highly appreciated Ninh Binh’s efforts in managing, preserving, and promoting its heritages, and expressed Hungary’s willingness to continue supporting Vietnam in training experts in tourism, engineering, digitalisation, and water resource management, which are considered vital for sustainable development./.
