Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam has urged a bold transformation in the mindset and methods of internal political security operations to safeguard political stability as the nation is navigating complicated challenges in the region and the world as a whole.

He made the request during a meeting on July 28 with the officers of the Department of Internal Political Security under the Ministry of Public Security on the threshold of the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day (August 19).

The leader acknowledged the significant role of the People's Public Security Forces in maintaining peace and political stability for the nation’s rollout of multiple policies over the past time, as well as the department's contributions to protecting the Party and internal political security.

He underscored that Vietnam’s implementation of a two-tier local government model and various strategic policies creates both development opportunities and challenges as hostile forces seek to undermine the Party and State.

Against the backdrop, he stressed that vigilance must never waver in the face of attempts to topple the Party’s leadership and socialist regime in Vietnam, stating solidarity and unity within the Party and intrinsic strength are decisive factors to the success of the revolution.

The Party leader highlighted that protecting the Party extends far beyond safeguarding its leadership and ideology, encompassing ensuring the effective implementation of the Constitution and laws, the success of the Party’s policies, and efficient operation of the two-tier local government model to create momentum for national development.

He asked the force to monitor the implementation of the Party's new strategic initiatives, promptly identify obstacles and signs of division within the two-tier local government operations, and detect any signs of group interests, corruption, and institutional manipulation in the legislation process.

Party General Secretary Lam laid stress on the need to foster close ties between the Party and the people, underscoring timely and accurate political guidance is essential to counter distorted views and hostile allegations, thereby maintaining ideological consensus and determination throughout the whole Party, people, and armed forces.

Amidst complicated situation, particularly with rapid technological advancements, he pointed out that failure to quickly detect and correct negative ideological trends could lead to severe consequences.

Recognising healthcare and education as sectors directly related to social welfare and reflective of the humane nature of the socialist system, the Party chief called for active implementation of internal political security measures to ensure the effective rollout of the Party’s policies in these areas, thus consolidating the solid “people's hearts and minds” posture in the new situation.

In conclusion, he expressed his hope that with noble tradition and driven by creativity, responsibility, and determination, the internal political security force will excel in fulfilling their missions entrusted by the Party, State and people./.
