Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand officially inaugurated the Coordination Centre for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) and the 13th ASEAN Para Games on July 2.
Located within the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) complex, the centre was launched at a ceremony chaired by Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong.
The event was attended by Dr. Gongsak Yodmani, SAT Governor, along with representatives from the Southeast Asian Games Federation, ASEAN Para Sports Federation, the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, and the Thailand Paralympic Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Sorawong said the centre will play a vital role in facilitating effective coordination at both national and international levels, ensuring the smooth organisation of the two major sporting events.
He reaffirmed the Thai Government’s full support and expressed hope that the Thai people would unite to showcase the country’s beautiful image to the ASEAN community.
SEA Games 33 is scheduled for December 9–20 in Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Songkhla, while the ASEAN Para Games 13 will take place from January 20–26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima./.
