Singapore (VNA) – Three in four workers in Singapore are already using artificial intelligence (AI) tools regularly at work, Singaporean Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo said on September 5.
She emphasised that Singapore increasingly needs "bilingual" AI talent who combine domain or functional expertise with the ability to work fluently with AI.
Speaking at an innotech event, Teo cited the upcoming 2025 edition of the Singapore Digital Economy Report with a finding that 85% of those workers said AI improves efficiency and work quality.
The government will focus on ensuring employees are equipped to make full use of AI-enabled solutions and on building AI fluency among both tech and non-tech professionals, Teo said.
She added that the government will partner with professional bodies in fields such as accounting and human resources to identify and develop the skills non-tech professionals need to work effectively with AI./.
