VietCham Thailand connects Vietnamese, Thai businesses

VietCham Thailand aims to work as a key platform for companies to exchange ideas, seize opportunities, and tackle challenges together. It is also hoped to assist businesses in accessing markets, expanding partnerships, and beefing up economic cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand.

Bangkok (VNA) – Around 50 Vietnamese and Thai companies gathered at a business networking event held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (VietCham Thailand) in Bangkok on April 9.

In her opening remarks, Chairwoman of VietCham Thailand Duong Thu Huong highlighted the chamber’s launch in October 2023 as Vietnam-Thailand relations are thriving in trade, investment, tourism, and education. She underscored Vietnam’s role as a vital trading partner of Thailand and praised the remarkable successes of Thai firms in Vietnam’s growing market.

Huong said VietCham Thailand aims to work as a key platform for companies to exchange ideas, seize opportunities, and tackle challenges together. It is also hoped to assist businesses in accessing markets, expanding partnerships, and beefing up economic cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, she added.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung spoke highly of VietCham Thailand's efforts in connecting Vietnamese and Thai companies and voiced his belief that it would form a vibrant and dynamic business community, contributing to the bilateral economic links.

As the first overseas Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, VietCham Thailand groups major firms such as Vietjet, FPT, and VMO, focusing on startups, and young entrepreneurs to deliver practical benefits through meaningful collaboration.

The event featured valuable insights from business leaders and experts across various sectors, with discussions revolving around VietCham Thailand’s unique and innovative approach to unlocking new opportunities for Vietnamese and Thai business communities./.

Stakeholders urged to join hands for efficient, sustainable innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam

Vietnam currently has over 4,000 innovative startups, including two unicorns valued at over 1 billion USD, 11 companies valued at over 100 million USD, more than 1,400 startup support organisations, 202 co-working spaces, 208 investment funds, and 35 business promotion organisations. Among these, it is estimated that around 200-300 companies focus on green transition, covering areas such as renewable energy, environmental technology, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy.

Breakthrough measures needed for 18 billion USD wood export goal

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the export value of wood and wood products in March 2025 was estimated at 1.5 billion USD, bringing the total figure for the first quarter to 3.95 billion USD, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

More types of aircraft permitted for import into Vietnam

Under the decree, aircraft types will be eligible for import into Vietnam if they are certificated by one of the following organisations - the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, the Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the Federal Agency for Air Transport of the Russian Federation (Rosaviatsiya), the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA), the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam.
