Hanoi (VNA) – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on September 1 stressed that the Venezuelan people have always learnt from the experiences of resilient nations, including Vietnam – a country that endured immense hardship to safeguard its independence, unity and sacred sovereignty.

In the face of mounting external pressure and interference, Venezuela, he said, will follow Vietnam’s spirit - staying steadfast, united and unyielding on the path chosen by its people.

Speaking at an international press conference in Caracas, attended by nearly 400 journalists, President Maduro described Vietnam as a shining example in the struggle to win and safeguard national independence and sovereignty.

He further emphasised that Venezuela is a peace-loving country but will firmly safeguard its independence, sovereignty and sustainable development./.
