Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) is seeking endorsement from ASEAN leaders for 12 Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) at the upcoming ASEAN-BAC meeting later this month.

ASEAN-BAC Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak told the press on May 6 that the support will accelerate regional economic integration – an urgent goal amidst challenging global conditions.

He stressed that this is a critical moment for ASEAN to unite, enhance integration, and strengthen economic and financial cooperation.

At the 46th ASEAN Summit to be hosted by Malaysia, ASEAN-BAC will present the PEDs along with several other reports to regional leaders. The summit will also feature meetings between ASEAN leaders and partners from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and China, scheduled for May 26-27.

Following presentations, government representatives from ASEAN member nations are expected to evaluate the PEDs. According to Razak, the initiatives that align with national interests and policy frameworks could be approved and implemented at the country level./.
