Dong Nai (VNA) – The first Party Congress of Dong Nai province opened in the southern locality on September 30, with Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac attending.

The Congress announced the Politburo’s decision appointing 68 members of the provincial Party Committee and its 15-member standing board.

Vu Hong Van was named as Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the local delegation of deputies to the 15th National Assembly.

Ton Ngoc Hanh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, was appointed as Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council.

In his speech, Trac urged the Congress to thoroughly evaluate local potential, advantages, opportunities and challenges, which will provide a foundation for setting directions, goals, and tasks for the next term.

For the 2025–2030 term, the provincial Party Organisation set out a clear development vision, with an overall goal, 29 key targets through 2030, eight groups of core tasks and solutions, and three breakthrough missions designed to shape the province’s new growth trajectory.

A political report presented at the Congress highlighted local advantages in land and population, its emergence as a hub for higher education, and its status as Vietnam’s “livestock capital” with branded agricultural products. The province is also poised to capitalise on eco-tourism and resort development, with the Long Thanh airport urban area and the Dong Nai river corridor set as twin engines of economic expansion./.
