Former agriculture deputy minister elected Secretary of Lai Chau provincial Party Committee

Le Minh Ngan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure, was elected as Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

Lai Chau (VNA) – The 15th Congress of the Lai Chau provincial Party Organisation for the 2025 – 2030 tenure announced the results of its first session of the newly-elected Party Committee.

Le Minh Ngan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure, was elected as Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

Earlier, at the opening session on September 18, the Congress elected a 47-member Party Committee. At its first meeting, the new committee elected a 13-member Standing Board.

Le Van Luong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and Sung A Ho, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, were elected as Deputy Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee.

On September 19, delegates also elected a 17-member delegation, including 16 official and one alternate, to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

In his speech, Ngan pledged that the new leadership will work in unity and with determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the 15th provincial Party Congress.

He emphasised the importance of innovation in leadership methods, building a contingent of capable and exemplary of officials, strengthening great national unity, ensuring defence and security, and striving to make Lai Chau’s development green, rapid, and sustainable.

Ngan previously served as Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee from 2016 to 2020, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment from February 2020 to February 2025, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment from March 2025 to August 2025. In September 2025, he was assigned by the Party Central Committee's Secretariat to join the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board, and hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Party Committee.

The 15th Party Congress of Lai Chau opened on September 18, with 350 delegates representing 31,578 Party members in the Party organisation./.
