Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has urged Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto to accelerate the readiness of more than 2,000 young professionals to enter the nation's public and private sectors.

The instruction was delivered during a limited cabinet meeting led by President Prabowo at his Kertanegara residence in Jakarta recently, according to a statement shared by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya via the official Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet.

The initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the national talent ecosystem in key priority areas such as technology, energy, food security, and digital finance.

Accelerating the development of skilled human resources is seen as vital to meeting the challenges of an increasingly competitive global economy.

Beyond individual capacity-building, the programme also aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry, bridging the gap between education and employment.

Earlier, in July, President Prabowo initiated the Presidential Fellowship in Economics and Business Leadership programme, with 82 young professionals selected by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
