Phu Tho (VNA) – Residents in the northern mindland province of Phu Tho have shown their backing for the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, as well as their trust in and determination to join hands with the Party to build and shape the nation’s future.

Nguyen Viet Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thung Nai commune, shared his views on the assessment of the implementation of the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution and the nation's progress after 40 years of Doi moi (renewal). He highlighted that during the past term, under the wise leadership of the Party, the country has achieved significant and historic milestones in all areas. However, despite these successes, there remain certain limitations, weaknesses, and shortcomings that need deeper analysis, particularly regarding the internal causes of these problems, so that more practical lessons can be drawn for the next term.

Phuong suggested development directions for the northern midland and mountainous regions be further clarified, including special policies to support sustainable agricultural development, community-based tourism, and livelihood transitions for residents in the vicinity of Hoa Binh Lake and mountainous areas. He called for greater investment in transport infrastructure, digital transformation at the grassroots level, and the enhancement of quality human resources training to meet development requirements in the new era.

Particularly, he emphasised the importance of culture and people as the solid spiritual foundation for development, advocating the establishment of a national and family value systems, and the promotion of a sense of dedication and national pride.

Regarding the development of the Party's theoretical consciousness over 40 years of Doi moi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Van Son commune Nguyen Xuan Tu proposed the sub-committee for the 14th National Party Congress’s draft documents research and further clarify the policies and measures for the development of mountainous, remote, and ethnic minority areas.

He emphasised that this should be a strategic focus for the 2026–2031 period, with the aim of bringing about real and uniform improvements in both the material and spiritual life of people in these regions, effectively narrowing the development gap, preventing the risk of further socio-economic and technological lag behind other regions of the country, and ensuring that the benefits of national development reach every part of the population.

Meanwhile, Hoang Van Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ky Son commune, contributed his ideas to the content of the report reviewing the 15-year implementation of the Party Statutes (2011–2025).

Minh proposed that the Party should continue to reform the content and methods of political theory education, linking theory with practice, and making it more engaging and practical. He emphasised the need for the Party Statutes to be amended and supplemented in a way that increases the autonomy and accountability of grassroots Party organisations. Additionally, he suggested establishing an effective internal counterbalancing mechanism within the Party to improve the quality of the Party building and rectification appropriate to the reality.

For the draft Political Report for the 14th National Party Congress, local residents agreed with the content regarding the building and rectification of the Party, the fight against corruption, the maintenance of political stability, and the promotion of the strength of national solidarity./.
