Tay Ninh (VNA) – Many Party members and officials in the southern province of Tay Ninh have been giving their opinions on the draft documents of 14th National Party Congress, highlighting the content on development of human resources as a breakthrough in realising rapid, sustainable development goals for the 2025-2030 period.
Dang Van Xuong, Chairman of the Tay Ninh Lawyers’ Association, underlined that the draft Political Report for the upcoming congress gives a comprehensive and objective assessment of the country’s development, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic fluctuations. The Communist Party of Vietnam has shown strong leadership and sound vision, helping the country overcome difficulties and achieve great, historic accomplishments, he said.
He noted that Vietnam’s economy continues to grow steadily, macroeconomic stability is maintained, and people’s living standards are improving. Per-capita GDP has reached around 5,000 USD, and the Human Development Index has risen 14 places, putting Vietnam among countries with high human development. These achievements vividly demonstrate the success of the Doi Moi (Renewal) process, he added.
Xuong gave feedback on the draft document's assessment of people's living standards, stressing that it should be presented more consistently to enhance its persuasiveness. He proposed placing the view on “promoting the strength of the people” before “promoting the strength of great national unity” to highlight the people's central role of in every all policy decision.
Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Hoa Khanh commune, noted that people’s living conditions, especially in rural areas, have improved significantly in recent years. Infrastructure for transport, electricity, clean water, and the internet has been upgraded, helping boost production and quality of life.
He said cultural development has also progressed, with the “All people unite to build cultural life” movement spreading widely and strengthening community solidarity. Many traditional values have been restored; festivals and cultural heritages have been preserved and promoted, contributing to shaping the unique identity of each region and improving the spiritual life of the people.
Hung expressed concern about bad social behaviours, growing materialism, and the negative effects of social media, especially among young people while stressing the need to invest more in culture, and see it as a foundation and an internal strength for sustainable development.
He called on each official and Party member to set an example in lifestyle, communications, and workplace culture, helping spread ethical and compassionate values in the community.
Pham Van Bon, Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Giuoc commune, said that developing human resources is seen as one of the three strategic breakthroughs for the 2025–2030 period, aligning with the draft documents’ emphasis on innovation and high-quality human resource development.
Bon said local authorities have been strengthening cooperation between the government, businesses, and vocational schools to train workers according to market demand. Enterprises are encouraged to participate in on-site training and recruitment, forming a partnership of the State, business, and people to develop local human resources.
From Tay Ninh’s experience, contributors agreed that to realise the goal of a prosperous people and a strong, democratic, fair, and civilised nation, the Party must continue renewing its leadership methods, empowering grassroots levels, and strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party./.
