Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s House of Representatives on July 30 approved the repeal of 55 major orders issued by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the previous military junta.
The motion was passed with 402 votes in favour, zero against, one abstention, and three non-voting members. It will be submitted to the Senate for consideration.
During the session, chaired by First Deputy House Speaker Pichet Chuamuangphan, lawmakers deliberated on a draft bill proposing the annulment of various NCPO orders and notifications that are no longer deemed necessary or appropriate in the current context.
Meanwhile, 22 other NCPO orders remain in effect, either due to the need for legal amendments prior to repeal or because relevant agencies have requested their retention pending the revision of related legislation.
The NCPO, led by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, was established following the military coup that ousted the government of Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in May 2014./.
Thailand adjusts EV policy to boost exports
Under the revised terms, one BEV produced for export will be counted as 1.5 vehicles toward a manufacturer's local production quota, making it easier to meet production commitments, according to the Board of Investment (BOI).
