The official dispatch, dated September 7, underlines the Government’s determination to achieve the 2025 GDP growth target of 8.3–8.5%, laying the foundation for double-digit expansion in subsequent years. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 7 evening chaired a high-level meeting with key ministries and agencies to review progress and accelerate the implementation of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway project, during which he stressed the need for prompt completion of the project’s feasibility study.

- The Hanoi People’s Court opened the first-instance trial on September 8 for former Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office Pham Thai Ha and 28 co-defendants involved in a major corruption case connected to the Thuan An Group.

- Vietnam’s economy expanded by 7.5% in the first half of 2025, one of the fastest rates in the region, reflecting strong momentum despite continued global uncertainties, according to the latest Vietnam Economic Update by the World Bank (WB), released on September 8.

- Vietnam’s wushu team has wrapped up their tournament at the 2025 World Championships in Brazil with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Early on September 8 (Vietnam time), fighter Dinh Van Tam competed in the men’s 52kg sanda (combat) category, earning the silver medal. Tam was the only Vietnamese male sanda fighter to reach this year's final. Read full story

PM urges industry, trade sector to pioneer in six key areas

Two military officers promoted to rank of Senior Lieutenant General
