Hanoi (VNA) – Visiting Mozambican President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi toured the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) in Hanoi on September 10.

HCMA Permanent Vice Director Nguyen Duy Bac briefed the guest on the history of the academy, which was established in 1949 to train and improve the quality of leadership and management officials of the Party and State at the middle and high levels.

It also serves as the national centre for research on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, guidelines and policies of the Party and State, as well as political science, leadership and management science to serve the training and development of officials. The academy has trained over 100,000 leadership and managing officials of the Party and State of Vietnam and some other countries.

Highlighting the sound relations between Vietnam and Mozambique over the past nearly 50 years and the ties between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO), Bac said that the HCMA has conducted various cooperation activities with the FRELIMO Central Party School in many forms, including delegation exchange and training FRELIMO officials.

The academy is working with the CPV Central Committee’s Organisation Commission and Commission for External Relations to organise training courses for leadership and management officials of FRELIMO on party building and rectification as well as party leadership methods, socio-economic development models, science-technology, agricultural management, social welfare, administrative reform, e-government, external relations, security-defence, and leadership and management skills, said Bac.

The guest affirmed that Mozambique hopes to strengthen cooperation with the HCMA.

He expressed his impression of the number of leadership and management official that the academy has trained over the past 75 years and said he hopes that the academy will strengthen cooperation with African countries.

Amid the current changing world situation, the academy's scientific and policy research activities are helpful for the leadership work, he said, adding that he hopes the academy will expand its training majors for Mozambique's officials.

Also on September 10, the Mozambican leader and his entourage visited the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), which is operating in 10 countries, including Mozambique with the brand name of Movitel, the first joint venture of Viettel in Africa that was established in 2010 and became operational in May 2012.

The President highly valued Movitel's effective operations and contributions to Mozambique's digital transformation process, describing it as a success symbol of economic cooperation between the two countries.

He pledged to direct relevant ministries and sectors of Mozambique to create favourable conditions for Viettel to invest and develop in his country./.
