AIG tally: Vietnam ranks second with 24 golds

Vietnam on November 5 won three more gold medals to retain second place, after China, in the Asian Indoor Games (AIG) tally, bringing the total to 24 golds, 20 silvers and 17 bronzes.

Dang Dinh Tien bagged a gold in themen’s singles 1-cushion carom event while the women’s Pencak Silat teamsnagged another gold for the host country.

The Vietnamese women’s Pencak Silat team, consisting of Vu Thi Thao,Nguyen Thi Binh and Nog Thi Quyen, scored 449 points, followed byBrunei with 423 points to net the silver medal and Malaysia with 394points to take home the bronze.

The third gold for Vietnam came on the sixth day of the AIG, was won byNguyen Thi Hien in the pentanque women’s singles event.

At the Pencak Silat event, Malaysia’s Samsuddin won the gold medal formen’s singles, followed by Nguyen Viet Anh from Vietnam and HajiDurahman Haij MD Khairul Bahr from Brunei.

Nguyen Thanh Bao, Lai Ly Huynh and Nguyen Tran Do Ninh, as a team,finished the Chinese chess competition with a silver medal in the men’sdivision. The Chinese team won the gold in the event./.

From Berlin, the Vietnamese guitar fosters cultural connections to global community

This year, 30 contestants from 15 countries entered the competition, with five finalists set to compete on October 10 at Ballhaus Prinzenallee in Berlin. The programme also includes a gala concert, masterclasses and a guitar exhibition. Long’s compositions have been selected as compulsory pieces, introducing international musicians to Vietnamese music.

Hanoi launches project to build cultural industry hub in Old Quarter

The project, covering about 3,862sqm. at 17 Nguyen Thien Thuat and 40 Thanh Ha, includes around 2,317sqm. of construction area. It will renovate existing structures, improve architecture and landscaping, upgrade technical infrastructure and create spaces for cultural, artistic and creative activities.
