Reference exchange rate down 7 VND on October 7

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,920 VND/USD, and the floor rate 24,356 VND/USD.

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 25,638 VND/USD on October 7, down 7 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,920 VND/USD, and the floor rate 24,356 VND/USD.

The opening-hour buying and selling rates at major commercial banks saw slight decreases compared to those of the October 6 trading session.

At 8:30 am, both Vietcombank and BIDV listed the buying rate at 25,800 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,180 VND/USD, down 10 VND from the previous session./.

Cashless payments open gateway to financial inclusion

Cashless payments continued to grow rapidly in the first eight months of 2026. The number and value of cashless transactions rose 34.56% and 13.26% year-on-year, respectively, while online transactions increased 46.57% in number and 21.77% in value.

Vietnam’s auto market accelerates amid growing electrification trend

According to data released by PwC in late September, total vehicle sales across the six ASEAN-6 markets, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore, reached about 1.755 million units in the first half of 2026, up 11% year on year. Vietnam recorded the highest sales growth in the group at 31.1%, followed by Indonesia at 15.9% and Thailand at 15.1%.
